The Fear of the Lord

April 29, 2019

The Fear of the LORD, unfortunately, there is a lot of misconception, when it comes to the fear of the Lord. There are many People who have misconstrued what the fear of the Lord is really all about. Many people conjure up when they transgress or sin that God is ready to club them over the head to get them to walk in the path of righteousness. Quite, the contrary What  Scripture teaches when it says: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). It’s speaking of being awe of our Majesty the King of glory, and the Lord of all Lord. Moreover, there are others who have taken to the other extreme: they habitually sin and override their conscience, that they lose all sensitivity and inevitably their conscience becomes seared. Therefore, they are unable to discern what’s right and what’s wrong even if we’re living in the last days. Consequently, they have become reprobates (2Corinthians 13:5). (Isaiah 5:20)

Consequently, in our modern society, I can understand, why that Non-Believers whom has lost the fear of God, because they get a myriad of deluge, from the internet and from the realm of Hollywood, in which we get our modern society whom are people living vicariously through the men and women of Celebrities. Television is a powerful medium. As a result some Celebrities they are shaping the culture in a diabolic way. And sadly it has infiltrated down through the Body of Christ. Psalm 3:7 Declares: it is through the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil. Its truly time for the Church to arise and shine, as we were predestined to be world changers like the First Century Church. Similar like the Saints in the book of Acts, they understood the fear of God. For example, Ananias and Sapphire sold a parcel of land, kept back part of the money, and lied about it, they both paid the ultimate price with their lives- they both drop dead for lying to Holy Ghost (Acts 5:1-5).  What if God should deal with us like He did like the First Century Church? Today, needless to say the Body of Christ would be a small remnant, whom would find grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Unequivocally the fear ofod need to be restored to the Body of Christ, because we’re Suppose to salt and light to preserve and help navigate the world to their eternal destiny. A Church that’s lukewarm, is incapable of inspiring anyone, let along the world at large. if we’re compromising the very Oracles of God by preaching a social gospel, how can we impact our culture? In fact, in order for God to restore the fear of the Lord to the Church must emphatically preach the unadulterated Word of God regardless of the backlash, or being politically correct. Where are the fiery men of God, like Elijah, John the Baptist, Billy Sunday, and Billy Graham of our day? We need some genuine Revivalist who would stir our hearts and to rekindle the fire of God and to proclaim the Clarian gospel of Christ without reservation or retribution.

Another, a misnomer of the fear of the Lord, some of us envision living in the dark ages, caged by religion or living on the bare minimum, which equates to a poverty mentality as well living a life of penitence and misery.  As a result, many have abandoned God and the church which is a trick of the enemy. If the devil can get both the world and the Church to live to both extremes, a grease grace alternative theology and live a lifestyle of habitual sin, which is a slippery slope, and a fallacy of contradiction of what the Bible teaches. Nevertheless Yes, God wants the Body of Christ to live, a holy and consecrated lifestyle and worship Him in spirit and truth, which is our reasonable service unto to the lover of our soul (Romans 12:1-2).

What are the benefits of walking in the fear of the Lord? From the outset, we said the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. First and foremost wisdom is the master key that unlocks the mystery of the Kingdom otherwise would be locked to those who don’t know or understand the protocol in honoring the Lord with the reverential fear. In fact, the fear of the Lord unlocks the heart of God. For example, Joseph is one of my favorite Bible character: who through the fear of God, refused committed the sin of adultery for a temporary gratification of the flesh. Because he fear God, God exalted him and made him a paragon of wisdom. Also, another benefit when we incorporate fear of the Lord the angel of the Lord encamps around those that fear the Lord (Psalms 34:7). Finally, another benefit of holy reverence unto the Lord, the Psalmist of David says: The secret of the Lord is with them that fear the Lord (Psalm 25:14). When God shares his secrets with you, you’re no longer a servant. In fact, this connotes friendship-similar to Abraham, Enoch, Noah, and Moses, and Job. Just to mention a few, which they were true friends of God because they reverentially fear and worship the Lord.
