The Armor of God Part 2

June 19, 2019

Previously I mentioned in part 1, that first and foremost that the armor of God is paramount. I will try not to be ad nauseam. However, I emphatically believe that every believer should put on the full armor of God every day. Every piece of the armor is essential in spiritual combat with the enemy. Frankly, if you want to be successful against the whiles of the devil, I encourage you to put on the armor of God in these perilous and unsettlingly times. Let’s us retrospect, I covered thus far, the importance of girding up our lions of your mind with the belt of truth. Secondly, I also covered that the Breastplate of righteousness, not only it protects your vital organs, but it also doubles as an offensive weapon of light to pierce the kingdom of darkness. And the third piece I covered in part 1 we ought to shod our feet with the gospel of peace.

Parenthetically, now that I’ve concluded where I left off in part one-Lets fast-forward to part 2 of the armor of God. And the next piece of the armor of God is the shield of Faith. Unarguably the shield of faith is one of the primary pieces of the armor of God. Paul said: above all taking the shield of faith that you may able to quench the fiery dart of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16). We have an adversary, whether you know, wittingly or unwittingly, the devil love to attack our fellow Christians with fiery darts, especially those who are unaware or neglected to put on the whole armor of God every day. We must be vigilant at all times. Because our enemy doesn’t take a vacation, so whether you’re ready for intense spiritual combat or just a day at the beach. Nevertheless, a true soldier is ready at all times. Some of the devil’s main tactics he  like to use are guilt, condemnation of your past sins, and failures, to obscure your true identity in Christ

Obviously, in order to achieve success in spiritual warfare, you must go on the offensive to defeat the enemy. Needless to say without the sword of the spirit, and that’s where our spiritual (manual) Word of God comes in. It’s not enough to know only a few verses of Scriptures, just to get by. That won’t cut on the spiritual battlefield. A true soldier knows the Word backward and forward and also knows the enemy as well (Ephesians 6:17). As  I have mentioned above about the adversary, he’s very cunning and strategic in spiritual warfare. He will try to annihilate you spiritually, especially if you ignorant of who you in Christ. However, the more of the Bible an individual knows, it will increase his or her chances of defeating the enemy. I don’t mean pain with a broad brush, I understand that not everybody is on the same level in the Body of Christ. The Bible declares: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Jesus illustrated in the wilderness when He was led by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by the devil. On one occasion the devil tempted Jesus to command Him to turn stone into bread, Jesus counted and said It written man shall not live by bread alone, but every word proceeds out of his mouth of God (Matthew 4:1-4). Consequently, we must do likewise if we are to surmount, the devil his attacks.

Unequivocally,  the next piece of our spiritual armor is to put on the helmet of salvation, all of the pieces of armor are very important.  However, but if I had to only chose one piece, arguably it would be the helmet of Salvation along with the sword of the spirit for offensive purposes. Obviously the helmet of salvation covers and protects our head which is our command center.  Matter of fact, four out of our five of our senes are located in our head. Needless to say your mind is the battlefield, in fact battles are won or lost between our ears. The adversary is cunning, he schemes, and plots to use lies, and deception to brainwash the unsuspected Christians who are not cognizant of their spiritual authority. Subsequently, when a believer falls prey to the devil’s deceptions, the enemy will set up a fortress or strongholds in their minds, causing the believer to be ineffective or live contrary to their full potential. And if we’re not diligent to make correction and break every stronghold, inevitably we’ll end up shipwreck. That’s why it’s absolutely imperative for the believer to renewed their mind in the Word of God so that there will be no chink in his armor, or to become vulnerable to any of Satan’s attacks (Romans 12:2).

According to Rick Renner’s book, Dressed to Kill, there are seven pieces of the armor of God. However, there are only six listed in (Ephesians 6:13-18) And the seventh is the [lance] it’s equated to prayer and supplication in the spirit. As a result, this revelation came through Rick Renner ’s book (Ephesians 6:18). Hence, Paul admonished us to pray always with all types of prayer and supplication in the Spirit… Praying in the Spirit is both defensives, as well as offensive. When we pray in the spirit the invisible realm and the kingdom of darkness are impacted through our prayers. The Bible declares the LORD gave us the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, all power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).  In my pilgrimage here on terra firms, I’ve been through a lot of battles and my primary choice is praying in tongues. For one, I know praying in tongues confounds the enemy.  He can’t defend what he doesn’t understand. As I recall the first century Church of the book of Acts when Peter was put in prison to be executed after the holiday. However, the saints prayed unceasingly in the spirit, on the behalf of Peter, and through their prayers, Peter was delivered supernaturally by the angles of God. (Acts 12:5-11) I know it’s through the culmination of using all of the seven the pieces of the armor and the grace of God and the infinite wisdom of the Holy Spirit, I can say that the Lord causes me alway to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14). And to God be the glory
